What's In Our Diaper Bag

As a first time mom gathering all of our travel "essentials" for Audrey, it came as no surprise that I would pack entirely too many things for some of our first outings. I had to learn the hard way that less is more. When I would go digging for things in a hurry they were impossible to find, falling out of the bag and then everything would have to be taken out and put back into the bag in just the right way that it would zip up again. This is what nightmares are made of for an OCD person. Insert me screaming here.
Having since analyzed what we actually use on an average day, we have minimized things to the bare essentials with only a few 'just in case' items.

Below are the things we don't leave the house without:
  • Extra bows... because fashion
  • Diapers, wipes, lotion, mini rash cream and travel q-tips for application
  • 1 spare outfit, socks & mittens
  • Extra bottle and formula
  • Muslin blanket & burp rag
  • Thermometer (because a fever at her current age would be very serious)
  • Pacifier clip & paci
  • Carseat cover because strangers think they can touch my child

Obviously the contents of our bag is based on her only being 2 months old and only needing very basic items. However, I am curious to know if I'm prepared for when things go south in a jiffy. What are some things you packed in your diaper bag that ended up saving your tail?!
